Japashion.com is a Japanese popular Fashion, Culture, and Magazine website and style blog named for and dedicated to our love of Asian style and culture, founded in 2006. We are a small, woman owned and operated business, based in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Our business and website was made solely for the purpose of promoting the stuff we love: Asian inspired fashion trends from popular Japanese magazines. Although the offerings of this site may differ greatly from each thing to another, and they certainly aren't all Japanese, the unifying thread is that they are all things that we think are cool, inspiring, and unique.

We are Mychaela & Kat, friends since 1995, partners in Japashion since 2008, and co-founders of Japanese Monkey Pants in 2009.

In February of 2008, Kat came to Bali and became the second half of my previously solo endeavor. Inspired by the importance of family life that's so apparent in Balinese culture, as well as my own pregnancy, we decided it was the perfect time to launch a babies' section for Japashion.com. All these things and serendipitous events seemed to point us both in the right direction. We both have a unique perspective on what's exciting for kids, and cool for parents; Kat's background lies in childcare and nannying and being a Super Auntie, mine being in fashion business, design, and production. Not to mention it was at this turning point that we discovered Japanese Monkey Pants and began forging strong relationships with our production team in Japan and our distribution team in Los Angeles.

As of Spring 2010, Japashion.com is right on the verge of offering a new burst of ahead-of-the-trends fashions and accessories, inspired by none other than Japan's leading pop-fashion magazines like ViVi, CanCam, and JJ. Get ready for some serious style!!!

This website was built in entirety by me, Mychaela, featuring an amazing bullet train image by my homeboy and super-chantuer Greg Lucas on every page. Special thanks to him and to Kat for watching Mylo while I'm "webmastering"! I couldn't have done it without their help and support, so thanks you guys!
